TRIGGER POINT THERAPY
A trigger point is a tight area within muscle tissue that causes pain in other parts of the body. Trigger point therapy is specifically designed to alleviate the source of the pain through cycles of isolated pressure and release.
Our most popular therapeutic massage type, the light to medium pressure helps relieve stress, reduce pain, boost mood and promote relaxation.
DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE
Deep tissue is similar to Swedish massage, but the technique focuses on the deepest layer of muscles to target knots and release chronic muscle tension.
For athletes of every kind, each therapeutic massage is specific to your sport of choice, with focus on a particular troublesome area like a knee or shoulder.
Also known as prenatal massage, pregnancy massage is customized to an expectant mother’s needs but is most often used to promote relaxation. Since many pregnant women suffer from lower back pain and swollen ankles especially in the later months, massage is a relatively safe, drug-free way to provide relief.
Like having your feet worked on? The therapist uses finger pressure and techniques such as kneading and rubbing to promote relaxation and healing in the body. Reflexology is based on “reflex areas” on the hands and feet, whose energy is believed to be connected to organs and other body parts.
This can be a deeply relaxing therapy, especially if you stand all day or have tired, achy feet. You remove your shoes and socks but otherwise remain clothed.
